North London Skydiving Centre specialises in providing Tandem Skydives and parachute jumps for first timers.
Established in 1997 our mission is quite simply to provide our customers with an outstanding life experience they’ll never, ever forget – subject of course to the strict UK Civil Aviation Authority safety regulations we have to abide by.
We’re also the envy of many of our competitors in that we own our own airfield (by which we mean many parachute centres have closed at short notice over the years due to land owner or planning permission issues – which we’re lucky not to be affected by) and the long term security this provides has enabled us to develop the airfield over the last 21 years into the vibrant skydiving venue it is today. The only other privately owned UK skydiving site is in the North East of England.
We also offer a full progression service, to those that want to go on and qualify as skydivers, and for over 21 years have run an apprenticeship scheme whereby newly qualified skydivers who want to immerse themselves in the sport can live on site free of charge, get paid for the work they do, and increase their jump numbers through a staged training programme that can eventually lead to an instructor rating and a thoroughly rewarding career in the industry. Many of our instructors started with us in this way.
It takes roughly 4 or 5 years of dedication and hard work to obtain an instructor rating and if you’re interested in finding out more please ask to speak to the chief instructor when you attend.
If you’d like to stay on-site the night before your jump, or extend your visit by a day or two to explore the local area (such as the historic cities of Cambridge and Ely or the Imperial War Museum at Duxford) you’re welcome to bring a tent and camp on the airfield free of charge – most airfields won’t allow you to do this. Alternatively you can stay in our old airfield farm house for a small fee or just attend for the day of your jump. Toilets, showers and a cafeteria are all available on-site for your convenience.
If you have any questions please just ask, or have a look at the FAQ page on this web site. We hope to see you shortly.
