Accelerated Freefall Course Jump Accelerate Freefall Course DescendYou’ll start by spending a full day in the class room going through the “AFF Level 1″ training syllabus (AFF stands for Accelerated Free Fall). On the following day, weather permitting, you’ll be ready to make your first skydive with two instructors from an altitude of up to 13,000 feet using your own parachute.

Having completed your AFF level 1 skydive you’ll then be able continue the Route to Qualification starting at AFF Level 2 – which must be completed within 3 months of AFF level 1 skydive and the full British Parachute Association membership paid.

Once qualified, jumps from up to 15,000 feet cost just £18!

All prices include instruction, equipment, flights (which are provided separately to participants by Skydive Chatteris Club Ltd at the costs quoted on their web site), £16.81 provisional membership of the British Parachute Association, and third party insurance for £5,000,000.

    We run training courses on the days of the week shown on the availability page, with jumps scheduled for the following day. As there are only four spaces available per course please check the availability using the Booking Form at the bottom of this AFF Qualification Course page.

  • Age, Weight & Health

    Age, Weight & Health

    The minimum age for this course is 16 with parental consent required for those under 18 (see below). The upper age limit is 39. Those aged between 40 and 54 can qualify through the Tandem to Accelerated Free Fall training system (TAFF) details of which can be found here.

    The maximum weight limit is 14.5 stone. However participants mustn’t be overweight in relation to their height, as per the table below. Reasonable levels of fitness also apply. (Tandem skydiving courses have a more relaxed weight limit).

    All participants are required to sign a Solo student declaration of fitness form on arrival. Anyone with a listed medical condition should first seek qualified medical advice and certification using BPA form F115D.

    Anyone under the age of 18 will require the same declaration form to be witnessed by a parent or guardian in addition to providing parental consent on a BPA membership form.

    You can jump in clear conditions with winds of 15 knots (17mph) or less.   You can view a “5 day local weather forecast” by clicking here.  The calmest winds usually occurring at the start and end of each day.

    If for ever reason the weather prevents your jump from taking place as planned you may return on any mutually convenient occasion at no extra cost within a one month period from your initial training date. You will have a maximum of three months from your initial training date to complete your jump.

    Additional jumps should also not be more than 3 months apart.

     

  • Air to Air Photos / Videos

    If you’d like to have a qualified camera person jump with you to Photograph or Video your jump you’re welcome to do so. Prices starting from £85 to £155 depending on your requirements and can be organised on the day!

  • Clothing Required

    Clothing Required

    Normal casual clothes such as jeans and trainers are ideal. Everything else is provided. Goggles are also available for those wearing glasses or contact lenses.

  • Spectators

    Are more than welcome but please do warn them that skydiving is an “all day” activity.

  • Food & Drink

    Food & Drink

    Is available throughout the day, however alcohol is not allowed to be consumed whilst parachuting is taking place – although there is a club bar which opens once the last flight of the day has landed.

  • Accommodation

    accommodationYou are welcome to stay on site the night before your jump if required. We have varying degrees of accommodation available ranging from…

    • Camping on the airfield – which is free of charge!
    • Communal bunk room – which is also free of charge!
    • (Showers are available in the toilet block.)
    • There are also 3 double rooms available in the old farm house at £35 per room per night.

Booking Conditions

The payments made here are to reserve places on specific dates and cannot be re-assigned to other dates unless first agreed with the parachute centre – which will require a minimum of six weeks notice depending on the group size.

Cancellations can be made up to 14 days prior to the date requested on this page but will be subject to a £50 administration fee for each place cancelled. Cancellations made 13 days or less prior to the date requested on this page will be subject to the full fee. This may also alter the final charges due from the remaining group members if the group size that attends on the day then falls into a different price band. Participants names however may be changed at any time without charge if required.

The parachute centre must receive full payment for each participant at least 13 days prior to the date requested on this page otherwise the parachute centre reserve the right to cancel the participants place (subject also to the £50 administration fee per place referred to above) and offer it to another party.

All bookings are also subject to our standard Terms and Conditions, which become incorporated at the point of booking, and each participant will be required to sign these before they will be permitted to jump. These can be viewed in advance here.

If you are making a booking on behalf of other people it is solely your responsibility to ensure they are fully aware and agree with these Booking Conditions and Terms and Conditions before you make their booking.

The total cost for your booking is £200.

Accelerated Freefall courses require participants to strictly be within a set height to weight ratio up to a maximium of 16 stones (clothed with shoes), as per the AFF page. Please confirm participants will be under this limit.

The minimium age is 16 with parental consent. The upper age limit is 39.

To reserve the places you can either provide full payment, or a deposit of £50 per person - in which case the remainder will due at least 13 days prior to the date requested.
